PIATT COUNTY MENTAL HEALTH CENTER

MHBPC provided funding to the Piatt County Mental Center in three of its major programs: Mental Health, Substance Use, and Developmental Services for Piatt County Residents.

  • Substance Use Programming – Funding was allocated to assist with capital improvement projects, staff development training, Prevention Education program expenses not covered by grants, accreditation costs, and other administrative expenses not covered by other payor sources.

  • Developmental Services – Funding was allocated to assist with staff retention, staff development training, capital expenses to enhance transportation/safety, IT expenses, and other administrative expenses not covered by other payor sources.

  • Mental Health Programming – Funding was allocated to use for staff retention, staff development training, to supplement the MH Medicaid loss for proving services to under resourced population, IT expenses, and other administrative expenses not covered by other payor sources. Lastly there are (2) new initiatives that will receive funding:

    • MH therapist to serve in the Monticello and ALAH School District

    • MH therapist to serve in (3) roles: MH support to local LTC Facility, support for Piatt County WIC recipients, and to handle additional intake capacity at PCMHC.

Marisas Purpose.png

MHBPC provided funding to Marisa's Purpose to help provide resources for the expenses related to providing substance use prevention education events to the youth of Piatt County. For several years, Marisa's Purpose has brought nationally recognized speakers on the topic of substance misuse to Piatt County and have even conducted workshops for both parents and community stakeholders. Each event created by Marisa's Purpose has shown an active engagement by participants and has helped serve as a catalyst for future discussions about the stigma related to substance use treatment and how to improve access to care. 

THE JAMIE BOONE PROJECT

MHBPC provided funding to The Jaime Boone Project to help provide funding for the purchase of additional J.A.M.I.E. bags to be distributed to the youth of Piatt County. These J.A.M.I.E. (Just A Mental Inventory Everyday) bags contain resources that may assist students with their mental wellness as they cope with stressful events.  The Jaime Boone Project strives to provide J.A.M.I.E. bags to every 8th and 12th grade student in Piatt County.

Hope Lives Youth Ranch.jpg

HOPE LIVES YOUTH RANCH

MHBPC provided funding to Hope Lives Youth Ranch to help provide funding for the purchase of capital expenses related to securing a location to assist with their equine-assisted services.  Many youth and some veterans who are residents of Piatt County have been referred to Hope Lives Youth Ranch and have shown remarkable progress in their mental wellness after engaging in services with these animals and their trainer. Many of the youth that are referred have exhibited maladaptive behaviors due to loss, conflict within the family, or other stressful live events. Hope Lives Youth Ranch provides a cathartic space where de-escalation skills can be taught an utilized.
